Splunk Ensures Performance of Key Trading Application at ENGIE Global Markets

ENGIE Global Markets (EGM) is the energy trading platform at the core of ENGIE’s global gas, power and energy services business. EGM needed a centralized, real-time view of the health of its critical trading application—built on a distributed grid—because performance issues directly threaten traders’ ability to transact and risk revenue. Siloed monitoring tools made troubleshooting slow and collaboration between development and infrastructure teams difficult.

EGM deployed Splunk Enterprise and Splunk IT Service Intelligence to correlate data across Sybase, MongoDB, Azure, Windows, proxies, firewalls and other sources, using adaptive thresholds and swimlane visualizations to pinpoint issues. The result: holistic visibility into the trading service stack, faster mean-time-to-resolution, improved cross-team collaboration, and the ability to detect and fix problems proactively—freeing the team to focus on incidents that impact end users.
