A Splunk Case Study
Otto Group, a global retail and services company founded in 1949 and the largest online fashion retailer in Germany, faced growing operational complexity from a distributed backend that aggregated data from 20 call centers and multiple web stores. Siloed systems, disparate data formats and a lack of real-time, end-to-end visibility made it difficult to explore customer journeys, correlate technical and business data, and create interactive insights without heavy manual effort.
By adopting Splunk Business Flow on top of their existing Splunk Enterprise deployment, Otto used dynamic event stitching and interactive visualizations to automatically correlate logs across 50+ backend applications and cloud services. The result was real-time end-to-end process visibility, deeper drill-downs into root causes, faster troubleshooting, reduced process complexity and time-to-fulfillment, improved conversion rates and lower customer service costs.
