VINCI Construction UK, a national construction and facilities business within the global VINCI group, rolled out personal digital assistant (PDA) devices to its mobile repair technicians (MRTs) but quickly faced widespread errors and limited visibility across nine JVMs and multiple log sources. The IT application support team was forced into slow, reactive troubleshooting that disrupted MRT productivity and hurt user experience.

Working with partner Somerford Associates, VINCI deployed Splunk Enterprise to aggregate event, SQL, WebSphere and other logs, build real‑time dashboards and set alerts for transmission and database errors. That proactive visibility sped issue resolution, enabled design changes to prevent recurring faults, freed the support team for strategic work, kept MRTs productive and delivered measurable efficiency gains and an improved bottom line.
