A Splunk Case Study
Shaw Industries Group, a global flooring manufacturer with nearly $6 billion in annual sales, faced challenges from limited real-time visibility on its factory floors that hampered quality, performance and work order lead times. To retain its leadership position and speed service for customers, the company needed a way to combine industrial sensor data with business systems to get timely, actionable insights.
Shaw deployed Splunk Enterprise across 37 manufacturing facilities and trained roughly 300 managers and engineers to build searches and dashboards that blend IIoT and business data. The solution delivered real-time visibility, doubled sample-panel production in one division (breaking production records), improved work order lead times, reduced energy use at a facility, boosted team performance through transparency and friendly competition, and sped time to insight for better quality and operational decisions.
