FamilySearch Moves to Continuous Delivery and Gains Real-Time Visibility for AWS Migration

FamilySearch International, the world’s largest genealogy organization, needed to move from monthly releases to a continuous delivery model as it migrated its entire infrastructure to AWS. The team lacked real-time production visibility to detect post-deploy issues and needed a monitoring solution that would support a DevOps culture and faster troubleshooting.

By adopting Splunk Cloud to ingest logs from AWS and on‑prem systems and automatically create JIRA tickets for errors, FamilySearch gained immediate operational visibility and developer access to production data without server access. The change shortened code-to-deploy cycles to under 20 minutes, enabled over 900 deploys per day, reclaimed 12 developers for higher-value work, and supported a successful full migration to AWS.
