A Splunk Case Study
City of Gold Coast (CoGC), Australia’s second‑largest local government with about 3,900 staff, needed better security visibility across diverse environments as it prepared for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. The international event increased the city’s threat profile and exposed gaps from multiple disparate security systems spanning industrial control, operational technology and traditional IT, creating an urgent need for consolidated monitoring and faster detection and response.
Working with service provider Enosys, CoGC deployed Splunk Cloud and Splunk Enterprise Security to create a single platform for real‑time monitoring across its industrial, IT and operational systems. The deployment delivered consolidated visibility, efficient threat tracking and response with no operational impact, improved joint threat intelligence with partners, stabilized security operations, and positioned the city to add new use cases and data sources in future.
