Shorter Captions and Bolder Graphics in iOS Screenshots Give SongPop2 10% Better CVR

FreshPlanet, the publisher behind SongPop2 – Music Quiz, wanted to improve app store performance by figuring out which iOS screenshots would drive more installs. Working with SplitMetrics and its Optimize product, the team set up an A/B test to compare their original screenshots with a bolder, more playful concept.

SplitMetrics helped FreshPlanet test shorter captions, brighter colors, and cartoon-style graphics instead of longer descriptive copy and real-person avatars. The updated screenshots delivered a 10% better conversion rate, which also helped reduce CPI, and showed that most users converted after viewing the first two screenshots.
