Lab Cave worked with SplitMetrics Optimize to improve the performance of its Google Play title My High School Summer Party after pre-registration failed to generate enough installs. An analysis showed the game was resonating more with older female users than with the teenage audience it had originally targeted, creating a challenge around how to reposition the app store presence without taking unnecessary risk.
SplitMetrics helped Lab Cave run multiple A/B tests on store assets, artwork, titles, and metadata to find a better fit for the real audience. The game was rebranded as Love & Dating Story, with more mature visuals and stronger keyword messaging, leading to a 43% conversion lift from one change set, a further 14.2% increase from the final asset lineup, and ultimately a 314% increase in installs on Google Play plus a 49% increase in the Apple App Store.
