Providing Remote Support to Students’ and Teachers’ Devices with Splashtop SOS

Ridley School District, a large K-12 district in Pennsylvania, had to rapidly shift to remote learning during COVID-19 and support 500 teachers/administrators and 6,000 students at home. The IT team needed a way to remotely assist Macs and iPads, since its existing in-person support model and phone hotline were not enough to see what users were doing or resolve issues efficiently. They evaluated alternatives and turned to Splashtop, specifically Splashtop SOS.

Splashtop provided Ridley School District with a low-cost, high-performance remote support solution that worked across macOS and iOS devices, using 9-digit session codes and a customizable SOS app for easy student and teacher access. With Splashtop, the district was able to share three concurrent technician licenses among the IT team, speed up support sessions, and minimize disruption to remote learning. Ridley School District said Splashtop made support sessions much quicker and was invaluable for helping them manage such a large device population remotely.
