A Splashtop Case Study
Asheville High School, a part of the Asheville City Schools district in North Carolina, faced a critical challenge when the pandemic closed its computer labs. This shutdown prevented Career and Technical Education (CTE) students from accessing the specialized software on lab Macs that was vital for their computer animation and game arts classes. To continue their curriculum, the school needed a way to provide remote access to these lab resources from students' own devices.
The school implemented Splashtop for remote labs, enabling students to securely control the lab computers from home with high-performance 4k streaming. The solution from Splashtop allowed for the full curriculum to be taught and provided the unexpected benefit of 24/7 access, which enhanced student engagement and responsibility. Due to this success, Asheville High School is expanding the use of Splashtop to other departments, including engineering and digital design.
