High precision GNSS Positioning for Flexible and Controllable HIL Testing Solution

The customer, a major automotive manufacturer in China, faced significant challenges in performing high-precision GNSS and low-latency HIL testing for its V2X and ADAS platforms. Real-world drive tests were costly and could not reliably replicate signals or anomalies. The company required a stable, controllable, and flexible test environment, prompting them to engage Spirent Communications for a solution.

Spirent implemented a dual solution using its GSS7000 GNSS signal simulator with SimHIL integration tools and the GSS6450 record and playback system. This provided a completely controllable lab environment for efficient multi-constellation testing and ultra-low latency HIL integration, while also offering a high-fidelity alternative to drive tests by replicating real-world signals. For the customer, Spirent's solution enabled the rapid identification of device malfunctions and substantially reduced the enormous costs associated with repeated physical drive testing.
