Case Study: Shanghai Motor Vehicle Inspection Centre achieves high-accuracy autonomous vehicle testing with Spirent GNSS simulation

Driving the future of automotive technology with SMVIC

Shanghai Motor Vehicle Inspection Centre (SMVIC) needed to create a robust testbed to evaluate the performance and accuracy of in-vehicle navigation systems for autonomous vehicles. Their challenge required high-fidelity signal generation capable of integration into a hardware-in-the-loop configuration. Spirent Communications provided a solution based on its GSS7000 multi-GNSS simulator.

The Spirent solution delivered high fidelity signal generation, multi-vehicle support at one RF output, and future-proofing capabilities. SMVIC also purchased the GSS6450 RF record and playback system to incorporate real-world signal environments into lab testing. As a result, SMVIC is successfully qualifying vehicle performance and is using the highly accurate system to facilitate its plans to build a unified national framework for autonomous vehicle requirements.
