Calnex Solutions, a world-leader in test and measurement solutions, faced significant challenges with an inefficient, free-ware test automation system that was difficult to maintain. This negatively impacted productivity, slowed product delivery, and resulted in less than 10% of their test cases being automated. To overcome this, they partnered with vendor Spirent Communications.

Spirent implemented its Velocity iTest automation solution, which provided a fully integrated and extensible IDE. As a result, Calnex increased its test automation from 10% to over 75% of its testing, a seven-fold improvement. The solution also allowed them to integrate automated tests into their DevOps processes with Jenkins, freeing developers from testing duties and enabling the growth of their dedicated automation team to five people.
