The customer, a leading mobile phone devices investment company (referred to as CICV), faced the challenge of establishing full vehicle MIMO-OTA test capabilities for connected car modules. They needed an innovative, cost-effective solution to conduct this complex testing, as traditional methods required an unreasonably large investment in chamber size and equipment. Spirent Communications was engaged to help address these challenges and develop a standardized testing approach.

Spirent implemented a solution centered on its VERTEX channel emulator platform to enable a Radiated Two-Stage (RTS) testing method. This provided the necessary channel emulation and modeling for the full vehicle tests while keeping the customer's investment scale controlled.
