A Panoramic GNSS Testing Environment for a New Chapter in High Positioning Tests

The largest high precision location service provider in China required a more flexible and comprehensive lab-based testing solution to replace inefficient field tests. Their challenges included an inability to control GNSS signals, a lack of realistic multipath simulation, and difficulty in synchronizing differential data for high-precision positioning. Spirent Communications addressed these needs with its GSS7000 simulator, Sim3D multipath simulation tool, and the GSS6450 recording and playback system.

Spirent's solution enabled the customer to perform complex, repeatable lab tests, including realistic multipath emulation and synchronized recording of signals and differential data. The implementation of Spirent technology resulted in test results nearly identical to real-world drive tests, significantly reducing associated costs and manpower investments. The GSS7000 also provided a convenient method for conducting critical spoofing and interference tests to assess receiver security.
