Meeting global connectivity challenges with ‘Software in Space’

Myriota, an Australia-based global direct-to-orbit IoT communications leader, needed a very fast proof of concept to de-risk expansion and scale its satellite-enabled connectivity service worldwide. To meet growing demand for secure, low-latency IoT connectivity without building and launching additional satellites, Myriota turned to Spire and its existing space infrastructure.

Spire’s “Software in Space” solution let Myriota adapt, test, and upload its network software to Spire’s satellite constellation and ground station network, giving it immediate access to a global service. The partnership helped Myriota meet rising demand for more data and higher relay capacity, reduce costs, improve bi-directional connectivity performance, and support a wide range of IoT use cases with minimal latency and frequent access to field devices.
