Blue Wasp partnered with Spire to help address the maritime industry’s push to reduce emissions and improve ship efficiency while meeting sustainability requirements. Working with wind assistance propulsion specialists and voyage optimization experts, the customer needed a way to plan routes more sustainably and efficiently using reliable weather intelligence.

Spire provided global weather forecasts that combined with Blue Wasp Marine’s Pelican ship model and Theyr’s T-VOS voyage optimization solution to identify the most efficient routes and speeds. The result was over 19,200 voyages evaluated across five years, with 15%–43% additional savings in fuel consumption and carbon emissions, and more than 300,000 possible routes instantly refined to find the single best path.
