How the University of Sharjah uses balanced scorecard software from Spider Strategies to automate its strategic reporting

The University of Sharjah, an Emirati private national university, needed a better way to manage performance reporting across more than 1,000 indicators and 50 scorecards. Its board and management reports were taking hundreds of hours to prepare from disconnected systems, and the strategy team had limited control over access and permissions. The university turned to Spider Strategies and its Spider Impact balanced scorecard software to improve strategic performance management and reporting.

Spider Strategies implemented Spider Impact with support from local partner Crystal Consulting, and the system was live in time for the university’s November 2021 Leadership Forum. All 14 colleges and 49 departments began using the platform, and the leadership forum was run entirely in Spider Impact using interactive briefings. The university reported that end-of-year performance reports that previously took two months and two people nearly full-time were created almost instantly, saving hundreds of hours and improving visibility, governance, and drill-down analysis.
