African Development Bank Optimizes Its Initiatives with Spider Impact

The African Development Bank (AfDB) worked with Spider Strategies and its Spider Impact strategic initiative software after a business-wide reorganization. AfDB needed a better way to plan, execute, manage, and report on 20 board-approved initiatives across functions like HR, IT, Procurement, Business Continuity, and Medical Services, especially since some initiatives had been overdue for years and the bank lacked a clear visual roadmap tied to its strategy.

Spider Strategies implemented Spider Impact as a cloud-based solution to help AfDB cascade strategy, assign resources, monitor delivery, and report progress. AfDB rolled it out from 20 licenses to 60+ users, delivered several long-overdue initiatives within the first year, and gained better visibility across silos with monthly board and presidential reporting. The bank also credited Spider Impact with helping deliver its “smart bank” initiative during the pandemic and said it improved the way teams work and make adjustments to meet goals.
