Case Study: DEUTZ achieves sub-tier visibility and stronger supply chain resilience with Sphera Sub-tier Visibility

Supply Chain Resilience with Sphera Sub-tier Visibility

Deutz, a global manufacturer of drive systems, faced limited visibility below its direct suppliers—monitoring roughly 1,600 suppliers across 44 countries—creating risk of production shortfalls and regulatory exposure under the German Supply Chain Act. To address this, Deutz adopted Sphera Supply Chain Risk Management and sought deeper insight with Sphera Sub-tier Visibility to detect sub-tier disruptions earlier.

Sphera implemented a collaborative Sphera Supply Risk Network approach, inviting suppliers to share their own supplier data and providing free access to Risk Radar Network Edition. By March 2022 Deutz was monitoring about 250 sub-tier suppliers, gaining real-time alerts that enabled faster mitigation; one early warning about a plastic-granules sub-tier supplier helped Deutz avoid production downtime, lost revenue and contractual penalties, strengthening overall supply-chain resilience and easing compliance.
