Streamline chemical compliance and processes

Large Multinational Apparel Manufacturing and Retailer faced fragmented, manual chemical management—binder-stored SDS, manual label printing and siloed paper processes across 33 production facilities in eight countries—which hindered compliance, reporting and insight into environmental impact. To streamline compliance ahead of expanded voluntary restricted-substances screening, the company engaged Sphera and adopted Sphera’s Chemical Management software.

Sphera implemented a cloud-based centralized database to consolidate roughly 3,700 SDS from about 1,300 vendors, giving 27,000 employees firm-wide access, automated compliant label printing, integrated regulatory and approval workflows, and eco-certification screening. The Sphera solution saved each of the 80 relevant employees about three weeks annually, reduced the quantity and variation of chemicals used, improved reporting and helped optimize chemical usage to curb environmental impact.
