S-Chem Realizes 25% Savings on Costs and 75% on Time Through Improved Management Of Change Process

S-Chem, a Saudi petrochemical group (Saudi Chevron Phillips Company, Jubail Chevron Phillips Company and Saudi Polymers Company), faced a cumbersome paper-based Management of Change (MOC) process that was time-consuming, error-prone and costly while needing to meet strict regulatory and corporate standards. To modernize workflows and improve risk management, S-Chem partnered with Sphera and implemented the Sphera Operational Risk solution, using the web-based Stature® software to automate and standardize MOC, PHA and action item management.

Sphera’s Stature platform centralized MOC data and approvals for hundreds of users, cutting manual compilation from a full day to 1–2 hours per MOC (about a 75% time savings), delivering roughly 25% cost savings and supporting the processing of ~1,500 MOCs between 2010–2015. The automated solution improved compliance, transparency and accountability across the enterprise and earned commendation from S-Chem affiliate leadership.
