Rust-Oleum Europe Addresses Compliance

Rust-Oleum Europe, part of RPM International and a global paint manufacturer, faced the growing challenge of meeting complex EU environmental, health and safety (EHS) regulations while ensuring products remained sellable across target markets. To address multi-language Safety Data Sheet (SDS) needs and regulatory consistency, Rust-Oleum turned to Sphera, deploying Sphera Intelligent Authoring™ and Sphera Managed Regulatory Content as part of the Sphera Product Stewardship Solution.

Using Sphera’s tools to automate and standardize SDS and label production, Rust-Oleum reformatted more than 1,500 SDSs, translated SDSs and labels into 16 languages, met the EU REACH Annex II deadline and began reclassifying for future compliance—while improving turnaround time and customer support. Sphera’s solution also simplified data quality control and eased integration of SDS processes during corporate acquisitions.
