Introducing the New Easy-To-Use (Bio)plastic LCA Tool

The Institute for Bioplastics and Biocomposites (IFBB) faced the challenge of producing standardized, credible life‑cycle assessment (LCA) results for (bio)plastic products that could be understood and used by non‑LCA experts amid rising scrutiny of plastics’ sourcing and end‑of‑life impacts. Sphera delivered an easy‑to‑use, web‑based (Bio)plastic LCA Tool that covers complete product life cycles, offers choices of feedstocks, materials, compounding/converting steps, transport and end‑of‑life options, and produces immediate, customized PDF reports including environmental impact categories such as carbon footprint. The Sphera solution enables IFBB to run standardized scenario comparisons (petrochemical vs. bio‑based), tailor reports with logos and product images, and quickly generate interpretable results for non‑experts—improving the speed, consistency and transparency of LCA reporting.
