A Sphera Case Study
Dow Chemical Company faced the need to replace multiple unsustainable legacy environmental reporting systems across about 200 U.S. production facilities, standardize roles and work processes, and ensure interoperability with corporate systems for regulatory compliance. To achieve a unified, enterprise-wide solution, Dow selected Sphera and its Sphera Essential Suite to replace disparate site systems and streamline multi-media environmental reporting.
Sphera implemented a single-instance Sphera Essential Suite (inventory, waste, air, material and water modules) with interfaces, templates, uploaders, QA/QC tools, training and a centralized support organization; more than 600 users were trained in 30 classes and the rollout covered 200 U.S. sites on time and on budget. The Sphera deployment eliminated over $2 million in redundant legacy systems (with a potential additional $2 million in future savings), improved reporting efficiency and accuracy, and standardized environmental reporting across Dow Chemical Company.
