Bega Cheese, an Australian dairy manufacturer, faced difficulty monitoring and reporting environmental performance across its supply chain—collecting inconsistent energy, water, wastewater and solid waste data from multiple business units and lacking the ability to produce timely ad hoc reports. Their existing solution only generated fixed reports, forcing costly customizations or a return to spreadsheets, so Sphera’s SoFi software was brought in to address these gaps.

Sphera implemented SoFi to centralize data collection from internal and external systems, provide intuitive, configurable reporting, and manage unit conversions and migration support, allowing Bega Cheese to generate correctly formatted customer and regulator reports on demand. The Sphera solution reduced time and vendor support costs (with a subscription that includes three days of service annually), improved data quality and trend reporting, and gave Bega Cheese greater flexibility and independence to scale reporting as sites and data points are added.
