AlphaSense, a fast-growing AI company serving 1,000+ clients, needed a faster way to scale its machine learning and search infrastructure as demand grew. Their existing tools couldn’t keep up with the volume of daily rich-text documents or the need to run experiments in parallel, optimize hyperparameters, and support a distributed global team. Spell provided AlphaSense with an easy-to-use cloud-based platform that could be rolled out company-wide with minimal disruption. The team used Spell’s Jupyter Notebook and JupyterLab support, shared live workspaces, duplicated environments with one click, and launched deep learning experiments on cloud GPUs in parallel. As a result, AlphaSense reported dramatically improved productivity and time savings—one engineer said Spell was “10 times better” overall—and the team could run many more experiments, collaborate more effectively, and reproduce results more easily.
