The Traverse Theatre, a producing theatre in Edinburgh, faced the challenge of its static basement box office creating an inaccessible and unwelcoming first impression for audiences. To build a more flexible and connected audience journey, they partnered with vendor Spektrix, utilizing its mobile ticketing, Digital Passes functionality, and Spektrix Payments service.

Spektrix provided a mobile box office solution using tablets and wireless PIN pads, enabling ticket sales and check-in anywhere in the building. This allowed over 90% of attendees using mobile tickets to be welcomed flexibly, eliminated system crashes on busy days, and significantly reduced payment costs. The solution also included tools for audience members to self-select and store access requirements, creating a more personalized and inclusive welcome while allowing the theatre to repurpose its old box office space.
