A Speechmatics Case Study

Preview of the Broadcast Bionics Case Study

Broadcast Bionics is building the future of radio – integrating transcription technology from Speechmatics

Broadcast Bionics, a leading developer of software and hardware for global radio broadcasting, needed a way to make audio content more searchable, shareable and instantly usable on social platforms. To meet rising demand for accessible, discoverable multimedia, they turned to Speechmatics’ automatic speech recognition solutions — initially using Speechmatics’ batch transcription system and trialing its new live real-time speech-to-text technology.

Using Speechmatics’ ASR, Broadcast Bionics implemented transcript-driven workflows (including their Multi-Object Recorder) that let broadcasters quickly produce, edit and search show transcripts to generate clips and metadata for YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and advertising. Speechmatics’ batch service has sped up transcript turnaround and the live trial now enables on-the-moment captions during broadcasts, improving publishers’ ability to post in real time and increasing content discoverability.
