Winterhalter GmbH, the German commercial dishwasher manufacturer, needed a modern, high‑availability wireless telephony solution after moving into new multi‑building premises. Seeking centralized management, robust voice quality, and seamless integration with its new Wi‑Fi infrastructure (including LANCOM access points and Swyx UC), the company evaluated vendors and selected Spectralink’s 84‑Series/8400 Wi‑Fi handsets to replace its legacy DECT system.

Spectralink deployed the 84‑Series (initially 180 handsets, expanded to 250 across multiple sites) and integrated them into a fail‑over telephony design using Swyx, delivering centralized configuration, superior voice quality, and easier administration. The rollout improved workplace safety with a SAFE motion‑sensor alarm for lab staff, reduced manpower and cost for phone management, and enabled the solution to be rolled out to Winterhalter’s other locations.
