Spectralink Wireless Telephones Help Improve Patient Care at Anne Arundel Medical Center

Anne Arundel Medical Center needed to improve caregiver–patient communication across its 555,000 square foot campus, where overhead paging and pagers were causing delays and inefficient responses. SpectraLink deployed the SpectraLink 6000 Wireless Telephone System to give nurses, physicians and staff portable, full-function wireless phones and integrate mobile communications into daily patient care.

SpectraLink integrated the SpectraLink 6000 with the hospital’s Jeron nurse call system, enabling room-assigned handsets, direct nurse routing, text alerts for IV alarms and bed-exit/fall notifications, and real-time family callbacks. The solution now covers the entire facility with more than 400 wireless users, has drastically cut doctor–nurse response time, improved patient comfort and family communication, and streamlined staff workflows across departments.
