Spectralink Wireless Solutions Helps the F.A.R.O. Foundation Hospice to Improve Their Responses to Patient Requests

The F.A.R.O. Foundation, which operates the “Ida Bocca” Hospice in Turin, needed a reliable bedside-to-staff communication system to speed responses across a large, horseshoe-shaped ward. They chose SpectraLink (in partnership with Honéro and the Flexvalley AMP) and deployed a SpectraLink DECT Server 8000 with SpectraLink DECT handsets, base stations and repeaters to integrate room call buttons with mobile staff handsets.

SpectraLink’s DECT solution routed patient requests directly to caregivers’ handsets, improving call precision, enabling timelier interventions, and supporting remote cooperation between clinical and administrative teams. The F.A.R.O. Foundation reported faster handling of critical situations, time savings and smoother internal communication, while SpectraLink handsets added safety features (man-down/no-movement) and disinfectant‑resistant keypads suitable for the hospice environment.
