Spectralink Wireless Solution is Music to Bang & Olufsen’s Ears

Bang & Olufsen, the Danish high-end audio and TV manufacturer with over 2,550 employees and 35 national sales offices, needed to replace an ageing analogue telephone system that was increasingly costly and restrictive. After evaluating cell and IP options, B&O selected a SpectraLink DECT wireless telephony solution to give mobile staff reliable, roaming communication across office campuses in Denmark and multiple European sites.

SpectraLink implemented a DECT server and base-station network (deployed with reseller NetDesign), licensing nearly 1,400 handsets and about 120 base stations—with over 80 base stations at the main Struer campus—to provide seamless roaming and wide coverage. The SpectraLink solution delivered measurable benefits: lower telephony costs, improved mobility and reliability (no call dropouts after tuning), reduced maintenance and support time, and a simpler handset-based extension model that increased operational efficiency.
