Case Study: Randers Regional Hospital achieves minimal downtime and reliable hospital-wide communications with SpectraLink

A SpectraLink Case Study

Preview of the Randers Regional Hospital Case Study

Smooth communication is vital for Randers Regional Hospital

Randers Regional Hospital needed a reliable, hospital-wide communications system to improve patient safety and staff efficiency after struggling with outdated paging and corded phone methods. To address minimal downtime, wide stable coverage and system integration requirements, the hospital selected Spectralink (working with partners Care-Call and NetDesign) and implemented a wireless DECT solution centered on the Spectralink IP‑DECT Server 6500 and DECT handsets.

Spectralink delivered a mixed deployment of more than 250 IP‑DECT base stations and over 400 handsets, integrated with the hospital’s alarm and nurse‑call systems, and has supported ongoing maintenance and upgrades. The Spectralink solution produced stable, hospital‑wide coverage with very low downtime, and the planned redundant IP‑DECT upgrade is expected to further eliminate outages—resulting in clearer communications, easier upkeep and measurable improvements in reliability and patient safety.
