Silverado Senior Living, a provider of dementia and memory-care across 21 communities, needed faster, more reliable staff communication to protect disoriented residents and reduce disruptive practices. After limited success with walkie-talkies and early DECT/802.11 rollouts, the company selected a Spectralink wireless telephony solution paired with HipLink notification software to meet the real-time communications demands of their clinical teams.
Spectralink deployed a complete wireless system (including 30 Spectralink 8020 handsets and an 8000 SVP server) integrated with HipLink so alarms and nurse-call messages arrive as texts on caregivers’ phones. The Spectralink–HipLink solution let staff call 911 directly, summon help to precise locations, contact family members immediately, and eliminate noisy walkie-talkies—resulting in faster emergency response, improved resident safety, smoother staff coordination, and adoption of Spectralink as Silverado’s standard for wireless communication.
