Marel, a leading global provider of equipment for the fish, meat and poultry industries with over 4,000 employees, needed to replace an outdated telephony system and integrate fixed telephony with its Microsoft Lync unified communications platform. After finding Wi‑Fi and mobile options insufficiently robust, Marel chose Spectralink’s DECT solution, integrated with Microsoft® Lync®, to meet its mobility and reliability requirements.

Spectralink deployed a Lync‑integrated DECT system with Butterfly and 7620 handsets (the 7620s provisioned for BHV emergency teams) at the Boxmeer and Dongen sites; the rollout provided about 150 DECT handsets across sites serving roughly 1,000 employees and is ready to scale to other locations. The Spectralink solution delivered high-quality, interference-free voice, presence visibility for faster internal cooperation and improved staff availability, seamless migration support, lower operational costs at production facilities, and simplified in-house management.
