Marel - Customer Case Study

Marel, a global provider of equipment and services for the fish, meat and poultry industries with over 4,000 employees, faced an outdated telephony environment after moving to Microsoft Skype for Business and needed a reliable way to connect fixed telephony to its new UC platform. Wi‑Fi and consumer mobile options were ruled out for reliability and cost reasons, so Marel selected Spectralink to supply a DECT solution that could integrate with Skype for Business and connect to the existing switchboard.

Spectralink deployed about 150 DECT handsets (including the 7622 for the BHV safety team) integrated with Skype for Business across Marel’s Boxmeer and Dongen sites (roughly 1,000 employees on site, with over 150 handset users), and provided training and implementation support. The Spectralink solution delivered clearer, interference‑free voice calls, better visibility of colleague status, faster internal communication, improved productivity and a scalable setup Marel now manages itself — enabling roll‑out to other locations and measurable improvements in staff availability and cooperation.
