Freudenberg Sealing Technologies, a global manufacturing subsidiary, needed to integrate its mobile production and storage workforce into its Microsoft® Lync® unified communications platform while using rugged, in‑building wireless handsets that withstand dust, water and shocks. After market research, FST engaged Spectralink to provide a DECT-based solution that would integrate directly with Lync without adding gateways or extra administrative overhead.

Spectralink deployed its DECT solution — including over 400 Spectralink 7540 and 7620 handsets across six sites — providing beta firmware, onsite developer support and rapid remote assistance to complete the integration. The Spectralink rollout improved employee availability and customer response, reduced administrative time (users auto-register in Lync and receive numbers), and delivered measurable impact: 400+ handsets in use, lower operating costs and faster feature response via firmware updates.
