EMS Sky Connect Keeps Customers Flying with Spectralink Wireless Voice Solutions

EMS Sky Connect, a Takoma Park, Maryland provider of satellite-based tracking and in‑flight voice systems, needed a new onboard handset for its Forté in‑flight phone after its previous supplier stopped production. The company required a compact, stylish, and high‑quality audio handset that would work over its Iridium‑linked cabin communications and meet the expectations of cabin‑class customers — and evaluated the Spectralink DECT solution (Spectralink handsets and DECT server) as the replacement.

Spectralink supplied DECT handsets and a DECT wireless server integrated into the Forté system, bringing noise‑cancellation, long battery life, hands‑free features and an intuitive user interface. The solution lets one base station support up to four lines (reducing installation costs), delivered clear, complaint‑free audio in flight, and helped EMS Sky Connect secure FAA certification for Gulfstream G‑IV installations — a measurable boost in reliability, cost‑effectiveness and sales opportunities thanks to Spectralink.
