Perion, a publicly traded MarTech company, needed a better way to protect its intellectual property and private data from accidental exposure by its own employees. Although it already had security measures in place, the team wanted earlier visibility into secrets and potential leaks before code reached production, and turned to Spectral for help.

Spectral first performed an external audit without requiring integration into Perion’s codebase, then used AI/ML to identify public repositories linked to Perion developers. This quickly uncovered exposed login credentials to a sensitive PostgreSQL database, and Spectral later helped secure newly acquired code assets as well. Perion said it was able to secure its codebase in minutes, reducing operational risk and improving security posture.
