Medical College of Wisconsin, a higher education institution in the United States, wanted to make it easier for students, faculty, staff, and consultants to unlock and reset passwords without relying on the IT service desk. The college turned to Specops and its self-service password reset solution, Specops uReset, to improve convenience while also strengthening account security.
Specops uReset was installed in about 30 minutes and launched alongside new password complexity requirements, helping MCW minimize password reset calls during rollout. The result was over 800 user enrollments, more than 300 resets in the first month, and close to 20% enrollment among the core user base one month after launch, while also improving helpdesk identity verification with multi-factor authentication.
