Encodia, a life science company, was developing its ProteoCode™ protein analysis platform and needed to shape the complete product experience for its new system. This challenge involved integrating a complex scientific workflow with novel cartridge interactions and an evolving instrument architecture. Speck Design partnered with Encodia to undertake this comprehensive design effort.

Speck Design conducted research to understand the lab context and user flow before providing solutions across industrial design and engineering. They created a cohesive instrument architecture, refined the cartridge interaction and GUI, and developed prototypes. This work gave Encodia a clear foundation for product decisions and a practical way to evaluate the design in context, helping align the team and move from early concepts toward a resolved, buildable system.
