How Restaurant Company Europe Transformed Employee Communication with an Employee App

Restaurant Company Europe (RCE), the largest hospitality group in the Netherlands with more than 75 restaurant and café locations, needed a better way to keep a diverse frontline workforce informed. Traditional channels like email, meetings, and printed instructions were not reaching employees quickly or consistently, making it hard to share operational updates, recipe changes, campaign instructions, and company-wide news across all concepts and locations.

To solve this, RCE implemented Speakap’s branded employee app, de Lekker app, to centralize internal communication and engagement. With features like Pages, workforce analytics, and translation tools, Speakap helped RCE improve information flow and employee involvement, reaching 2,600+ users with an 81% monthly active user rate and an 88% activation rate. RCE also plans to use Speakap for onboarding and to further build community across its locations.
