Real Life Options, a national charity founded in 1992 that supports people with learning disabilities and autism, faced a major communications challenge: about 90% of its workforce had little or no access to company devices and only around 200 desk-based employees could easily access email. With high sector turnover and the need to reach specific locations and business units without spamming everyone, Real Life Options sought an easy-to-use mobile solution and selected Speakap.
After discovering Speakap, Real Life Options trialed the Speakap solution with 150 employees in December 2018 and rolled it out organization-wide in April 2019 as the internally branded "Real Talk"; Speakap synced to the HR system to assign roles, groups, and permissions for a fast deployment. The platform delivered real-time information to the whole workforce, sparked two-way interaction and private messaging, and—supported by a structured communications plan—achieved an 84% adoption rate, 38% faster/more consistent onboarding, and a 14% increase in employee retention.
