How WISAG connected and engaged 50K employees with one employee app

WISAG, a Frankfurt‑based provider of aviation, facility and industrial services with about 50,000 employees across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Poland, struggled to reach and engage a largely non‑desk workforce (only ~20% worked behind a desk). Communication relied on a mailed in‑house magazine, bulletin boards and informal WhatsApp groups, raising privacy and timeliness issues. To solve this, WISAG launched the MyWISAG employee app built on the Speakap platform to provide a secure, GDPR‑compliant internal social network and replace consumer messaging for business communication.

Using Speakap as the technological base, WISAG deployed a branded app that mirrors the company’s organizational structure and offers private and group chat, likes, comments and event planning, plus integration with existing employee systems. Speakap’s targeted content delivery and mobile‑first design enabled WISAG to reach and engage its full workforce of ~50,000 employees, deliver more relevant information, speed up communication, achieve very high user acceptance, and eliminate insecure WhatsApp usage.
