A Spatial Vision Case Study
Women’s Health Victoria faced a significant challenge with its outdated women's health reporting, which consisted of hundreds of pages of static, hard-to-analyze data in non-standardized formats. This labor-intensive process made it difficult to identify regional patterns and hindered evidence-based decision-making for health planners across the state. Spatial Vision was engaged to develop a solution, leading to the creation of the Victorian Women’s Health Atlas.
Spatial Vision implemented an interactive, open-source website that visualizes key health statistics on a map of Victoria. This solution translated volumes of static data into a dynamic resource that is easy for a non-technical audience to use on desktops or tablets. The results were significant: the atlas enabled the identification of patterns and disparities across regions, supported benchmarking, and drastically reduced the workload and cost associated with data production and maintenance for Women’s Health Victoria.
