The NSW Department of Primary Industries - Customer Case Study

The NSW Department of Primary Industries faced the challenge of transforming its extensive but complex water monitoring data from over 5,000 sites into an accessible format for a wide audience, including farmers, residents, and researchers. To address this, they engaged Spatial Vision to develop the Our Water website, an interactive solution designed to make this voluminous data comprehensible and engaging.

Spatial Vision implemented the website by leveraging two cloud-based mapping platforms, Esri’s ArcGIS Online and CartoDB, to process and present the complex spatial data. The solution was built on the Joomla content management system to ensure flexibility for future growth. The result is a dynamic, near-real-time resource that enables NSW residents to easily find and understand detailed water information relevant to their location, successfully transforming static reports into a living website.
