The Australian Rail Track Corporation - Customer Case Study

Spatial Vision partnered with The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC), a government-owned corporation managing Australia's interstate rail network. ARTC faced a challenge in precisely locating maintenance sites along thousands of kilometers of track, as their system of physical kilometer posts was inaccurately spaced, making it difficult to efficiently manage and log critical rail maintenance work.

Spatial Vision developed the KM2ME mobile application, a GPS-based solution that accurately calculates a user's position on the rail network. The app provides precise location references, allows field staff to tag photos with spatial data, and sends this information back to the office. This solution from Spatial Vision bridged the gap between office and field staff, promoting proactive maintenance logging, increasing work efficiency, and enhancing the safety and reliability of the rail infrastructure.
