South East Councils Climate Change Alliance - Customer Case Study

The South East Councils Climate Change Alliance (SECCCA) needed to understand the potential impacts of climate change and extreme weather events on the assets and finances of its member councils. To address this challenge, SECCCA engaged Spatial Vision to conduct an asset vulnerability assessment and provide financial evaluation services, which would help in planning and prioritizing resilience work.

Spatial Vision implemented a two-part solution, beginning with a high-level asset vulnerability assessment using the latest climate projections and then conducting detailed financial case studies on specific extreme weather scenarios. The vendor also provided mentoring and workshops to build internal council capacity. As a result, the councils gained a clear understanding of asset vulnerabilities, the financial implications of climate change, and how community service delivery could be impacted, enabling more informed and effective strategic planning.
