Case Study: E2DesignLab achieves flood resilience insights with Spatial Vision's surface permeability analysis

A Spatial Vision Case Study

E2DesignLab - Customer Case Study

Spatial Vision partnered with E2DesignLab, a water resources policy consultancy, to address a challenge faced by local governments in the flood-prone Elster Creek Catchment. The area's highly developed nature and history of flooding required a detailed baseline analysis of surface permeability to inform future policy and development planning, a task for which innovative spatial analytics were needed.

Spatial Vision developed an innovative solution by applying a rules-based spatial analysis to a range of datasets, including LiDAR and multispectral imagery, to create a detailed GIS dataset mapping surface permeability. This provided the councils and water authorities with a critical tool for informed decision-making and established a repeatable baseline to track the impact of future policies. The project's innovative methodology was recognized with a 2022 Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence Award.
